a little night music...

History becoming clear, yet another Big Lie, and something best avoided by those of a delicate nature...

Over at Sailing Simplicity it's about a far too common problem... those folks who anchor way too close.

To tell you the truth, I've never understood the desire to get way too up-close-and-personal with other boats in an anchorage. Especially when it's an anchorage with lots of room...

This week where we are currently anchored there were zero boats and then a big power boat came in and anchored right in front of us at a distance that would make perfect sense in a really crowded anchorage but with zero boats around I simply don't get it...

Being in front of us, we are downwind from their exhaust and as they seem to run their genset all night, it is something of a double whammy of diesel smell and exhaust noise. Which is just that little bit annoying. Annoying enough in fact, that it was actually a welcome change of pace when getting on to 1 AM in the morning last night they decided to crank up the their stereo and play what appeared to be the soundtrack from the Big Chill for us...

One does wonder how much they'll appreciate the collected works of Captain Beefheart tonight played through a cranked Marshall half stack... on the other hand, maybe at 2AM I'll feel a compelling desire to work on my zydeco accordion licks (I mean the Marshall is already out and and warmed up... Right?).

Listening to the truly fabulous  Beau Jocque and the Zydeco Hi-Rollers

So it goes...
