Not a saw wood in the cockpit sort of day...

Something of interest for folks on boats, a quick read on the funding of science, and L,G,& M making sense...

It's raining.

I had intended to begin some fairly energetic wood butchery in preparation to some fun and frolicsome application of fiberglass and epoxy but, you know, it's raining...

The current tropical wave passing through the neighborhood is just a bit of inconvenience today and maybe tomorrow but just might kick some serious ass when it gets up to Florida and environs as the Gulf of Mexico has a record setting scary amount of heat energy just waiting to ruin someones day/week/year.

That said, we're almost to the top of the bell curve (Sept 10) of the "H" season and looking forward to the every day means less chance rather than more of getting hit but this mornings bus ride to the market with all of the FEMA tarp roofs still visible along the route was a stark reminder that it's not over till it's over.

In the meantime it would seem like a good time to read a book because, you know, it's raining...
