Just another day, a quick fact check , and when nothing at all good happened...

I'm aware that I've been less than kind regarding folks who must have the newest/best/shiniest bit of gear that Cruising World, Sail, or the sacred Panbo deem to be needful.

The thing is, rampant consumerism is great because it kills the crap out of resale value so folks like me can get last year's (or, in my case, a few years older) newest/best/shiniest gear for pennies on the dollar.

Kind of nice to be subsidized by the folks with a slavish need to be trendy and hip...
