About the weather...

I'll admit I find this just a bit bothersome, pitchforks & torches could be the next growth industry, and just what does it say about the state of things when people in authority are just so ill suited to their responsibilities...

This year we've been trying something new and have been getting a weather service we pay for and, so far, it has been incredibly unimpressive.

The fact is, as everyone seems to use the same government weather information, at best all you really get for your money is a slightly more nuanced forecast geared to what you're doing... In our case, weather for folks on boats.

So, everyday we get a weather report which bears a striking resemblance to what the NOAA or French forecasts say with the small addition of passage advice of the go/don't go sort which seem geared more to people who motor rather than sail.

I suppose the bottom line on this experiment has been that it's simply not worth the money and, when all is said and done, I'm still looking at NOAA for real information so why pay for a second opinion I seldom (if ever) agree with?
