The right here and now...

Mr Zip could use some support, the workaday world circa 2013, and in the hindsight being 20/20 department...

Do you ever wonder how you happen to be where you are in the great right here and now?

For instance, how is it you happen to be reading Boat Bits right now instead of some more mainstream sailing/cruising blog? What exactly led you here?

More importantly where will you or I be tomorrow?

I noticed that Dave Z's old boat Luna is for sale up in Alaska. Luna is a riff based on Phil Bolger's Advanced Sharpie designs. I expect it is a good boat. I should also mention that it is cheap and selling for about what the copper covering it's bottom would sell for (copper was selling for about $3.50 a pound last time I looked).

You might want to check it out...

Of course, you have to keep in mind that cheap boats are going to have some serious issues and costs involved to make them right. Now, having to put sweat equity and some money into a boat is not a problematic concept as I have yet to see a boat, cheap or expensive, that does not need some sweat equity and money to make right. The advantage of a cheap boat is you know going in it's needed.
