Since we were speaking yesterday of geriatric circumnavigatorial projects, I would be remiss if I did not mention Sven Yrvind's plan for a non-stop 30,000-mile single handed round the world jaunt...

Now, as it happens, sailing long distances in very small boats is something of a forte for Sven Yrvind so I expect that his chances of actually sailing around the world non-stop will be successful.
Fact is, if I were a betting man, I'd put money on his chances rather than the Kiwi Spirit project simply because there is so much less to go wrong.
