One year making the crossing from the Canaries to Martinique we happened to be following a mega-sailboat that had loaded up with 55-gallon oil drums of fuel as they planned to motor across. So, for several days every few hours we'd come across a semi-floating bright yellow steel 55-gallon oil drum right on the nose... Sorta of a slalom course with teeth.
