Have you ever considered just how much gear for boats comes in plastic packaging?
It's horrific. These days almost 80% of stuff I put in the trash is plastic that really is not needed at all. Since most plastic waste is not really recyclable despite the green-washing hype it's all just going to wind up in some open landfill bleeding into the environment.
So, next time you're at WEST Marine or reasonable facsimile why don;t you ask about how they plan to recycle the plastic waste they're promoting. If they can't come up with a decent answer maybe it's time to shop somewhere where they do.
