I needed a couple of Beckson plastic bits the other day and, as none were available on the island, proceeded to buy them online. Amazon had them for $13 with $10.21 shipping. eBay had a couple people selling them for $21 one of them with free shipping and the other wanting $23 to send them to paradise.
The problem is that the Beckson bits in question have a suggested retail price of less than $5,
Someone is ripping folks off.
I've noticed this is becoming pretty much the norm with small bits for boats as folks simply don't pay a lot of attention to what small stuff costs as they are more concerned with what the big stuff costs. But when folks are selling a $4.85 item for over twenty dollars it's akin to highway robbery.
