My email box is overflowing today with come-ons  for stuff to make my life aboard all kinds of better. So much stuff, in fact, that if I were to buy all of the Black Friday offers I'd have to purchase a bigger boat because "So It Goes" would simply sink with all of the added weight.

Of course, I'm pretty sure West Marine could sell me a periscope...

So, when did sailing or cruising become more about consuming and spending rather than about sailing and cruising?
