The question is... What do you call someone who is not against progress but thinks that a lot of so called "progress" is ersatz? Or, for that matter, that far too often it's a one step forward two steps back dance step...
With that in mind, why not take a look at one of Gary Hoyt's Freedom designs
Not so much an innovative design. More along the lines of looking back rather than forward and seeing where we took a wrong turn then bringing it into the current century along with some hindsight. Certainly good design work though, sadly, not something that was allowed to flourish as the accountants and marketing folks killed the real Freedom concept/designs before they had a chance to evolve into the game changer they should have been.
You know, I wish there were more folks around thinking like Gary Hoyt...
