I still say it's important to follow the money, some scary shit, and this might make for some interesting profiling in the future...
A reader dropped me a note on their ongoing trials and tribulations in trying to buy an affordable small boat. The problem, it would seem, is not that good cheap boats are not out there but simply that they are not out there for very long.
Just yesterday they had an appointment to see a Catalina 27 that was selling for $700 and after an hour or so drive to get to where the boat was berthed, they arrived to find money changing hands. Apparently the boat was really nice as well...
Bummer!
The two lessons learned that being there first is better than being there second and to be prepared to make the decision right then and there with money in hand. Seems obvious but it's needful to keep in mind.
