Some good points being made, something interesting (though not really a surprise) about the Stock Act, and some oligopoly chatter...
Ever since we moved from Europe (220 volt land) I've been trying to replace my Black and Decker electric file which was one of the best all-around boat building/butchery tools ever invented...
It was a belt sander sorta file kind of thingy that did not cost very much and was so useful in the course of building and repairing boats that it really did become indispensable.
The problem is that Black and Decker in the US just did not seem to carry it or, if they did, they did not for very long... Makita has a reasonable facsimile but it was/is silly expensive when compared to the Black and Decker.
To tell the truth, I pretty much gave up on searching for the B&D electric file and had decided to simply buy the Harbor Freight take on it which albeit affordable was simply not as elegant as the B&D and a whole lot of clunky...
Well at least until I was searching for this only available in the UK new tool from Bosch which looks like a really, really interesting boat butchery tool I won't be able to live without if I can ever get my hands on one...
But we're talking electric files so more about the Bosch later...
Anyway, while I searched for the Bosch what popped up on Amazon but a new version of the B&D electric file being sold in the US of A!!! Better yet it's CHEAP!!! Of course, it does not seem to be currently available but there is hope in the world and everyone knows we could all use a little more hope...
We be doing the happy dance!
