Stacks of money (you really have to watch the animated charts), hot stuff, and a riff on health, vitamin D and suchlike over at Mountain Gazette...
Tad Roberts dropped me a line yesterday and included a few photos of "China Cloud"...
"Allen Farrell designed and built China Cloud when he was 70 years old, she was launched in 1981. She’s about 42’ overall, 10’ beam, draft is 2’10” with twin fixed bilge keels (she will never point much at all), no engine just an 18’ oar for sculling aft. The construction pic (Lasqueti Island BC) shows the plastic tarp roof which became her first set of sails. She has a hold between the two cabins which serves as storage for paint and firewood. The fore cabin is a workshop, painting studio, and guest cabin. Aft is the living space with big table, galley, and athwartships double right aft.See the attached, that’s Allen in his dory."
Speaking of "China Cloud" there's a pretty cool film I've been meaning to mention, as well...
